Truly a creative eye with the use of the positive and negative space. the Rorschach inkblot test was used for many years as a tool for Psychologists to examine a person’s personality characteristics and emotional functioning. I can tell you I didn’t see nearly what L. Filipe dos Santos has seen in his own interpretations. Astounding is putting it lightly.
In his See.Saw Series, Madrid’s L. Filipe dos Santos creates beautiful drawings inspired by the Rorschachesque watercolor shapes that he begins with.Do any of you like to challenge yourself in similar ways? This reminds me of the right-brain freewheeling I used to do as a kid… making random scribbles and then interpreting drawing subjects from them. My work lacked the exhibit-level quality shown here, however.
